When Abhishek and Aishwarya first met!

It's RGV's most anticipated film of the year. Abhi-Ash's first film together post marriage and one of Amitabh's best roles ever, yes Sarkar Raj.

Incidentally, Ramu wanted that the scene they first shoot after marriage should be the scene where Abhi and Ash are striking a conversation for the first time and trying to know each other. Truly, RGV knew exactly what he wanted and got it. The scene where they were to interact with each other for the first time was to be done with tentativeness and they were to weigh each other as people.

Ash-Abhishek in Sapnay director's next

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai [Images] seem to have become an inseparable onscreen couple after marriage. After Guru and the upcoming Sarkar Raj, they will be seen together in Rajiv Menon's new film, Dhun. It will be produced by Eros Entertainment.

Dhun is a musical love story, and will feature eight songs. "I want to bring out the essence of music and the unsaid emotions in this film. This film is especially for music lovers," said Menon, who has earlier directed films like the Kajol-Prabhu Deva starrer Sapnay and Mammootty-Ash-Tabu starrer Kandokondain Kandokondain.

Why Raj wants to see Sarkar…

Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar Raj has been mired in controversies right from its inception. The story of Sarkar Raj is based on the Enron issue and the Nagre family (Amitabh's family in the film) is said to be inspired by Bal Thackeray's family.

In fact Ramu had even gone on record to say that Amitabh's character has been inspired by Bal Thackeray. Now there are reports that one of the key characters in the film is modelled after Raj Thackeray. The character is played by TV actor Rajesh Shringarpure and he plays a fiery politician in the film who is against the Nagre family.

Raj ki taaza khabar

Ram Gopal Varma and Amitabh Bachchan's ambitious plans for promoting their upcoming film Sarkar Raj went awry due to the recent outburst of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.

Amitabh Bachchan along with son Abhishek was supposed to do a promotional rally at Shivaji Park for Sarkar Raj. The rally was to be a lookalike of a political rally that takes place in the film and Bachchan along with other members of the cast would have addressed the general public at the venue where several political rallies are held.

Sarkar Raj : Movie Preview

“Power cannot be given…it has to be taken,” says the punchline of Ram Gopal Varma’s film ‘Sarkar Raj’.

The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in leading roles. While Sarkar was inspired from Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Godfather’, ‘Sarkar Raj’ has nothing to do with ‘Godfather 2’. It also does not take off from where ‘Sarkar’ ended. In Ram Gopal Varma ’s words, ‘Sarkar Raj’ is about a new episode, full of political adventure, in the life of the Nagre family.

RGV blogs about Sarkar Raj

Blogging has become a great medium to communicate and connect with your audience. Nowadays most of the actors and filmmakers are using this as medium to promote their film. Latest to join the bandwagon is ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma.

He is looking forward to the release of Sarkar Raj and the first thing that he explains is that this film does not take off from where ‘ Sarkar ’ ended. In the very first blog he writes about his forthcoming film Sarkar Raj quoting, “I want to make it clear that ‘ Sarkar Raj ’ has nothing to do with Godfather-2. In the life of a man like Sarkar there are bound to be so many incidents which will give raise to new complex situations. So for want of a better word I would like to describe it as the new adventures of the Sarkar Family.”

AB Baby’s long schedules

Some people have it lucky and some don’t. Well Abhishek Bachchan has always pulled the short straw when it comes to shooting for his films.

What started off with Refugee, his first film, appears to be something of a tradition for Bachchan Junior. A long and tedious shooting spell in Rajasthan for Refugee to his current film, Dostana, which is being shot in Miami, the actor has had to be away from the luxurious comforts of his home. While he was in the United States of America for almost three months for Karan Johar’s Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, this time round for the same film maker, AB has been in Miami since the last week of March and will be returning only on the 23rd of May.
